IN THE SUMMER OF 2015, I STARTED CHASING A DREAM. THAT DREAM WAS TO CREATE A DISTILLERY, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, A LEGACY.
See, this legacy starts with my earliest and greatest hero, my grandfather. As a young man, Daryl “Efficiency” Thompson used to have a snort every day at 5 pm. It was like clockwork. He and my grandmother always mixed the same drinks – a Jack Daniels with club soda for him, a Seagram’s 7 & 7 Up for her. He taught me a lot through his actions, his values and the way he treated others. To him, a cocktail was a way to slow down in a busy world, to connect with a loved one, a friend or a soon-to-be friend.
He passed down his kindness, wisdom and passion to me. I’m excited to share these virtues through every sip of Lucky Guys vodka, gin, whiskey or bourbon.
