30/06/2021 Gin Of The Year crowned to the Green Hat Gin Citrus Floral by Green Hat Distillery.
MGP’s Green Hat Distillery won 5 medals at the recently held Bartender Spirits Awards. The USA-based distillery was founded in 2011 in the Ivy City neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Green Hat was the first distillery licensed in D.C. after Prohibition, and it offers on-site production as well as a tasting room, bar, and gin garden for its visitors.
Green Hat Gin Original Batch won a silver medal with 92 points and the Green Hat Gin Citrus Floral was awarded with a Double Gold medal with a score of 97 points, Gin of the Year, Gin Producer of the Year, and Best Package of the Year.

Tale of Origin
The inspiration for Green Hat Gin dates back to more than 100 years and is named after a bootlegger who sold alcohol to the representatives of the Senate House from 1920 to 1925.
The mysterious hustler was referred to as the “Man in the Green Hat” and this inspired the inaugural recipe for the Batch Gin.
Crafted in the first distillery after prohibition in Washington DC, it was acquired by MGP in March 2020.
